Do you have a minimum per order?


Yes, our minimum is 1 bag up to 25 pounds, or $49 + delivery fee* *orders exceeding 25 lbs per bag charged $2.00 for every additional pound. *If your laundry weighs over 50 lbs, we may have to take an extra day to process your order. We'll contact you asap if this is the case




Do you offer dry cleaning?


No. Maintaining a high standard for laundering (aka wash & fold) is our sole focus. Our laundering process is perfect for everyday household laundry but is not recommended for ultra-fragile items that are dry-clean only. Check out your local cleaner or other laundry apps.




What cleaning products do you use?


We use detergents from Oakland-based Puretergent. Puretergent is tough on dirt, and gentle on delicate items. It’s also fragrance-free and hypoallergenic: great for people with sensitive skin and/or allergies to fragrances. We also offer OxiClean for an extra $2.50 per bag.




Who takes care of my laundry?


We do, at every step. Family Laundry drivers pick up and return your clothes. Our full-time launderers expertly clean & neatly fold your items in our 100% owned and operated facilities. We never, ever outsource the cleaning part.




Can I drop off my laundry?


Yes. Come to our drop off location at 2609 Foothill Boulevard, Oakland. We are open from 7 am to 8 pm, seven days a week. Price: $1.75/lb for wash + fold Note that we don't offer delivery for dropoff orders. All dropped off orders must be picked up by you. For same day service, remember to drop off your laundry before 10 am (we open at 7 am). Orders dropped off after 10 am will be ready the following day.




Oops sorry I missed your driver. Can I reschedule?


Forgot we were coming today? No sweat. You can reschedule on the app or reach out to us. We charge $10 fee for no-shows.




Do you provide group service to multi-unit apartment buildings?


Yes, we do! Coordinate/consolidate pickup days with your neighbors for a group discount. Requests for multi unit pricing and coordination should be sent to info@familylaundry.com.




Do you offer hang dry?


No we do not. Please send us laundry that can be machine washed and dried. They will come back sorted and neatly folded in beautiful bundles like the ones you see below. If you want us to send back your lingerie bag with delicate items wet so you can hang at home, we can do that! Just let us know when you place your order.




What cities do you serve?


Oakland, Emeryville, Berkeley, Alameda, Piedmont, San Leandro, Hayward, Castro Valley, Albany, El Cerrito. We are open for business 7 days a week.




It's my first order and I have no bag? What do I do?


Leave us your clothes in plastic trash bags. We'll take care of it. Make sure to take off pins from blouses and anything valuable from pockets such as credit cards or jewelry. Please indicate whether you'd like our drivers to pickup and deliver your laundry by your door - unattended - when you register online.




Do I have to meet the driver in person?


No. Just leave your bag(s) in front of your door and we'll take care of it. Please indicate whether you'd like us to pickup and deliver your laundry by your door when you register online. * missed pickups will be charged a $10 fee




Can you clean dog bedding, large comforters and sleeping bags?


Yes we can! We have big machines to launder your larger items. If it fits in the Family Laundry bag, we will wash it.

Why Free and Clear only?


The more we learn about the chemicals used in popular detergents, the less we want to use them. For example, phtalates are a group of chemicals used heavily in detergents to retain scents throughout the cleaning cycle. We know for a fact that they can cause allergic reactions, and recent studies suggest they can be harmful to your health.
