Do you have a minimum per order?


Our minimum order is 1 Big Bag that fits an average of 25lbs of laundry for a fixed price of $49. Pickup and delivery is included. The Family Laundry bags we return your laundry in are yours to keep for your next order. *Individual bags exceeding 30 lbs, will be charged $2.00 for every additional pound *If your laundry weighs over 60 lbs, we may have to take an extra day to process your order. We'll contact you asap if this is the case *Your laundry will not be delivered until your bill is paid in full




May I request cleaning preferences?


Our goal is to provide the best quality laundering at the best price. Read about our standard service HERE. If you're looking to add something special, this is what we offer: - OxiClean for an additional $2.50 per laundry bag - Lavender scented fabric softner for an additional $2.50 per laundry bag - Double wash for an additional $10 per laundry bag




Do you offer Dry Cleaning?


No. Maintaining a high standard for laundering (aka wash & fold) is our sole focus. Our laundering process is perfect for everyday household laundry but is not recommended for ultra-fragile items that are dry-clean only. Check out your local cleaner or other laundry apps like Purpletie, Rinse, and Wash Club.




Should I tip my driver?


Please don't. Our drivers are compensated fairly for their professional work. Please indicate whether you'd like our drivers to pickup and deliver your laundry by your door - unattended - when you register online.




What cleaning products do you use?


We currently use Free & Clear from 7th Generation detergent. It does a great job cleaning clothes at all temperatures, it’s gentle on delicate items, and it’s great for people with sensitive skin or scent allergies. For an additional fee, we also use lavender scented fabric softner and OxiClean




Who takes care of my laundry?


We do, at every step. Family Laundry drivers pick up and return your clothes. Our full-time launderers expertly clean & neatly fold your items in our 100% owned and operated facilities. We never, ever outsource the cleaning part - that’s what we do!




Is same-day service really Free and Standard?


Yes. Any orders picked up before 9 am will be returned to you by 9 pm the same day. For free. *If your laundry weighs over 60 lbs, we may take an extra day to process your order. We'll contact you asap if this is the case *Your launry will not be delivered until your bill is paid in full




Can I drop off my laundry?


Yes. We now accept dropoffs at 2609 Foothill Boulevard in Oakland. 7 am to 8 pm & days a week. Price: $1.50/lb for wash + fold | $0.75 for wash + dry only. Note that we don't offer deliver service for dropoff orders. Orders placed by 10 am can be picked up after 5 pm the same day.




Oops I missed your driver (sorry). Can I reschedule?


Forgot we were coming today? No sweat, reschedule via the app. We'll charge your account $10 for any missed appointments.




Do you provide group service to multi-unit apartment buildings?


Yes, we do! Coordinate/consolidate pickup days with your neighbors for a group discount. Requests for multi unit pricing and coordination should be sent to info@familylaundry.com.




Do you offer hang dry?


No. Please send us laundry that can be machine washed and dried. They will come back sorted and neatly folded in beautiful bundles like the ones you see below. If you want us to send back your lingerie bag with delicate items wet, we can do that! Just let us know when you place your order.




What cities do you serve?


Oakland, Emeryville, Berkeley, Alameda, Piedmont, San Leandro, Hayward, Castro Valley and San Francisco We are open for business 7 days a week




It's my first order and I have no bag? What do I do?


Leave us your clothes in plastic trash bags. We'll take care of it. Make sure to take off pins from blouses and anything valuable from pockets such as credit cards or jewelry. Please indicate whether you'd like our drivers to pickup and deliver your laundry by your door - unattended - when you register online.




Do I have to meet the driver in person?


No. Just leave your bag(s) in front of your door and we'll take care of it. Please indicate whether you'd like us to pickup and deliver your laundry by your door - unattended - when you register online.




Can you clean dog bedding, large comforters and sleeping bags?


Yes we can! We have big machines to launder your large items. Our Dexter brand machines are the best in the business!

I'm a former LaunderBot client, how do I sign up with you?


LaunderBot was acquired by Family Laundry in December 2019. If you're a former LaunderBot client, download the Family Laundry app on your iPhone or Android device and use the same LaunderBot username and password. You'll have to re-enter your payment information. Thank you for choosing us!

Are you open during shelter in place / Covid-19 outbreak?


Yes. Family Laundry is considered an essential business (along with grocery stores and pharmacies) and will therefore continue to operate. We do your laundry, we operate our own facilities. Everyone on our team is a W-2 employee. Know the following: - All of our employees wear aprons, gloves and masks - Everything will be washed in WARM and dried on HIGH to kill pathogens, no exceptions - Our drivers practice social distancing, they will not have physical interactions with you and will place your laundry in a safe space upon delivery. Kindly leave your bag out for us if you can - Every customer gets their own machines. It’s worth saying again: your laundry is never mixed with anyone else’s. A typical order requires 2-3 dedicated washing machines - All washing machines are regularly sanitized - Nylon Family Laundry bags are washed and dried on HIGH
